About The Position

Requirements

  • Current Texas Registered Nursing License for RNs.
  • Bachelor's degree required for non-RNs.
  • Knowledge of standard research and oncology care practices.
  • Oncology clinical trial experience preferred.
  • Research coordination experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with electronic data capture systems.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for patient safety and protocol integrity in clinical trials.
  • Assist with screening patients and scheduling study requirements.
  • Attend study teleconferences with sponsors and clinical research organizations.
  • Identify primary and secondary study objectives and outcome measures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations related to clinical research.
  • Provide protocol-specific education to clinical staff.
  • Report serious adverse events and noncompliance to the IRB and sponsor.
  • Collaborate with the PI and pharmacy for proper use of study drugs.
  • Facilitate meetings with sponsors, monitors, and auditors.
  • Manage informed consent discussions and ensure understanding among patients.
  • Educate patients and families regarding protocol participation and study procedures.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely completion of protocol-required events.
  • Document all patient encounters in the legal medical record.
  • Assist in troubleshooting data entry issues and ensure data integrity.
