RESEARCH ASSISTANT I
About The Position
Carries out experiments as instructed by PI. The Research Assistant I will receive training to be able to perform the techniques required to complete the project. Monitors inventory of essential Lab supplies and order additional supplies when required. Prepares solutions, buffers and media. Gathers, organizes, enters and analyzes data; perform literature searches on computer and retrieve literature from library. Incorporates new information/techniques into experiments with PIs approval. Maintains a safe and orderly Lab environment. Makes sure the Lab environment complies with safety regulations. Performs related or other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or related field - OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
- Ability to communicate verbally.
- Ability to deal calmly and courteously with people.
- Ability to finish tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and established procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to perform basic filing, office procedures and word processing.
- Ability to work as an effective team member.
- High standards of integrity.
- Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office

- 1 - 2 years of previous job-related experience
