About The Position

The Research Associate position at Mississippi State University focuses on ungulate movement in relation to chronic wasting disease (CWD) status. The successful candidate will work within the Quantitative Ecology & Spatial Technologies (QuEST) Laboratory and collaborate with USDA-ARS scientists. This role requires strong programming skills, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in ecology, biology, natural resource management, or a related field.
  • Capability to conduct work in common programming environments (R or Python).
  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative ecology and computer programming.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a trans-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Examine ungulate movement as a function of CWD status.
  • Work with stakeholders to complete the identified project objective.
  • Participate in oral and written communications with participating scientists and stakeholders.
  • Disseminate knowledge at conferences and meetings.
