We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Associate. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting independent basic science experimentation based on research conducted in the assigned laboratory under the mentorship of a senior scientist. Individual is expected to seek to build a portfolio of research accomplishments in preparation for acquiring a higher degree in biomedical research or medicine. The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Langone Health is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate (pre-Masters / pre-PhD) to support the NYU site of the NIH-funded HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) Study, a large-scale national consortium examining early brain and behavioral development: https://hbcdstudy.org/. The NYU Langone Health site is led by MPIs Drs. Moriah Thomason, Lauren Shuffrey, and Uju Berry. This longitudinal pregnancy cohort enrolls mothers during pregnancy and follows families through early childhood, integrating multimodal data including medical and family history, anthropometrics, biospecimens, social and environmental exposures, neurodevelopmental assessments, EEG, and MRI. This position is ideal for individuals planning to pursue graduate training in psychology, neuroscience, public health, or medicine. The Research Associate will gain extensive hands-on experience in pediatric and perinatal research, including neurodevelopmental assessment, infant EEG/MRI acquisition, and large-scale longitudinal data collection.
