Purpose This position will provide guidance and support for a research-practice partnership with a community-based organization that provides violence prevention programs in Central Texas Schools. The position will help to coordinate research activities for the project. The position will supervise project staff and ensure compliance and grant reporting.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree in Sociology, Human Development and Family Science, Psychology, Demography, Statistics, or related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise with quantitative data and longitudinal, multilevel, and/or dyadic data analysis.
  • Experience using common statistical packages such as SAS, Stata, R, or SPSS.
  • Experience in child and adolescent development, education, and delinquency prevention research.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with National Institutes of Health proposal preparation and submission based on University of Texas Policy.
  • Experience with primary data collection, interview and survey data analysis.
  • Experience supervising and/or mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Effective time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Able to work both independently and collaborate with a team as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise PeaceRox Project data collection. Duties here include, but are not limited to maintaining IRB compliance, developing survey instruments and project management materials, corresponding with participants, disseminating surveys, tracking participant progress, troubleshooting and problem-solving issues, and performing data quality checks.
  • Perform statistical analysis of the PeaceRox data. Provide interpretations of results for reports, manuscripts, and briefs.
  • Prepare reports and manuscripts for publication using the PeaceRox data.
  • Disseminate PeaceRox research findings through presentations at meetings and conferences.
  • Supervise and/or mentor graduate and undergraduate students during data collection, analysis, and when preparing manuscripts, reports, and briefs.
  • Develop and write supplemental grants to accompany the initial grant as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
