About The Position

The Department of Molecular Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join an NIH-funded research program. This position is available immediately and offers an exciting opportunity to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying Lyme disease. The successful candidate will conduct research focused on protein structure–function relationships, gene regulation, tick–mammal transmission dynamics, and host–pathogen interactions of Borrelia burgdorferi, the Lyme disease spirochete. This role is ideal for an individual with strong scientific curiosity who is interested in molecular pathogenesis, vector-borne diseases, and interdisciplinary research approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research focused on protein structure–function relationships
  • Conduct research focused on gene regulation
  • Conduct research focused on tick–mammal transmission dynamics
  • Conduct research focused on host–pathogen interactions of Borrelia burgdorferi, the Lyme disease spirochete
