This role ensures the work location or group functions efficiently by performing a variety of duties using a wide range of procedures when conducting experiments and analyzing data

Requirements

  • Associates with 3+ years of experience or Bachelor of Science degree with 0 to 3 years of experience in protein biochemistry or related fields.
  • Highly competent and motivated with working experience in subcellular fractionation protocols, protein purification and general laboratory maintenance.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, a high level of attention to detail, and a desire to learn and develop new technologies and skills.
  • An ability to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary group environment and manage multiple projects at one time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with insecticidal proteins, receptor-mediated mechanisms, or protein structure determination would be beneficial but are not required.

Responsibilities

  • Characterize the mode of action of insecticidal proteins.
  • Assemble and analyzes data of specific problems while initiating action within standard procedures.
  • Be involved in protein production and purification for use in the development and implementation of various biochemical assays to characterize protein-protein interactions aimed at identifying the mechanism of activity of insecticidal proteins.
  • Additional responsibilities will include general laboratory maintenance, buffer preparation, performing subcellular fractionations, data management and regular communications to stakeholders on progress.
