About The Position

(This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position through 06/30/2027. Funding must be available for any continuation of appointment.) Work Location: Aquatic Germplasm and Genetic Resources Center, 2288 Gourrier Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70820. Position Description: Managing grant lifecycles, accurate and up-to-date record keeping, ensuring all deadlines are communicated in advance to the team, budget reviewing, collaborate within the AGGRC team to maximize possible spending, propose or review new grant proposals, collaborate with staff on implementing a digital grant and proposal tracker, ensure compliance with any funding administrators, implement monthly grant reporting, supporting development of a national aquatic germplasm center; including laboratory management, partnership coordination, budgeting, and human resources. Qualification Requirements: Bachelor's degree Minimum of 3 years working in a laboratory setting Previous experience working in aquatic research Previous experience managing a laboratory team Previous experience reviewing and reporting data Previous experience with file management Previous experience with digitizing preexisting file management systems Previous experience working with aquatic animals and performing husbandry tasks Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to expand upon current organizational systems Comfortability working in a collaborative and evolving environment Willingness to establish working relationships amongst diverse teams Ability to think critically and creatively when program designing Strong verbal and written communication skills Expertise in customer service Strong ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision LSU and the AgCenter are dedicated to fostering an environment where our employees feel appreciated for their skills and individual qualifications.
