About The Position

The Research Associate Specialist (Entomology) position at the LSU AgCenter involves overseeing field, greenhouse, and laboratory research activities focused on the ecology and integrated pest management of rice insects. The role requires independent work in designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and publishing results, primarily at the H. Rouse Caffey Rice Research Station in Crowley, Louisiana. The position also includes supervising summer field assistants and facilitating graduate student research, with some travel required for off-station research plots.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in entomology, plant pest management, plant sciences, agronomy, or related discipline.
• Computer skills are required.
• Experience in agricultural research settings is desired.
• Knowledge of farming practices, including pesticide applications and farm machinery operation, is preferred.
• Experience researching plant-insect interactions, insecticides, and insect ecology is desired but not required.
