The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Houston invites applications for a non-tenure-track position at the rank of Research Associate Professor in the area of materials for energy storage. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to multiple research projects supported by the U.S. Department of Energy and industrial partners. We are seeking individuals prepared to assume leadership roles across several dimensions of these efforts. This is a 12-month appointment, may be renewable contingent upon available funding, performance, and programmatic needs. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2026. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the Department's research activities, collaborate across the College and University, and participate in securing externally funded research grants as part of a dynamic team of faculty and research scientists. The Department is home to multiple NSF Centers, Industry/University Consortia, and a NanoFabrication Facility. The university has a well-developed faculty-centered ecosystem for translational research and commercialization of technologies. UH main campus is located on a park-like campus, a few minutes from Downtown Houston, with over 39,000 undergraduate students and 8,000 graduate students. The Department boasts modern research facilities, annual research expenditures exceeding $10 million, and a vibrant graduate program with more than 100 Ph.D. students.
