About The Position

Revance is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate, Microbiology to join our Bio Science R&D team. The successful candidate will support research and development activities focused on microbial analysis, culture techniques, and experimental design. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to advance scientific projects. Reporting to: Manager, Bio Science Location: Johnson City, TN - onsite

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree & 2+ years' directly related experience; OR
  • Master's degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in microbiology, molecular biology, biology or related field.
  • 2-3 years' laboratory experience in microbiology, molecular biology, or related discipline (academic or industry).
  • Bioreactors & fermenters: controlled growth of microbes for research or industrial use.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and microbial handling.
  • Familiarity with molecular biology tools (PCR, RT-PCR, SDS-PAGE, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong presentation skills; ability to present scientific data to a broad audience, including both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
  • Able to manage time well and complete assigned tasks on time.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced HPLC, FPLC, etc. skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform microbiological assays, including microbial culture, isolation, and identification.
  • Conduct sterility testing, environmental monitoring, and microbial enumeration.
  • Prepare media and reagents, and maintain laboratory equipment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist in experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis.
  • Document all procedures and results accurately in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
  • Support quality control and regulatory compliance for microbiological testing.
  • Collaborate with scientists and project teams to meet research objectives and timelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment following GLP/GMP guidelines.
