The Hansen Laboratory at the Buck Institute invites applications for a Research Associate II (RA II) to support research projects focused on understanding how autophagy, a fundamental cellular recycling process, is regulated during aging. Our lab uses the nematode C. elegans, mammalian cell culture systems, and a combination of biochemical, imaging, and genetic approaches to study the biology of aging. This role is well-suited for a candidate with stronger hands-on research experience who has a demonstrated ability to contribute experimental expertise, support multiple scientific projects, and work with a greater degree of independence in a collaborative academic environment. The Research Associate II will perform established and moderately complex laboratory procedures, analyze and interpret experimental results, assist with troubleshooting, maintain organized records and inventories, and help maintain efficient lab operations. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, technically strong, detail-oriented, and effective in both independent and team-based work. This is an on-site position. Schedule flexibility may be required, including occasional weekend work, to support research needs.
