About The Position

The University of Chicago is seeking a Research Associate Professor or Research Full Professor to lead the Research Computing Group within the Biostatistics Laboratory in the Department of Public Health Sciences. This role focuses on collaboration with researchers in the Biological Sciences Division, innovative research in Artificial Intelligence and computational biomedicine, and the mentorship of data scientists and research professionals.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years grant writing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as key personnel on federally funded research projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in computational biomedicine.
  • Strong publication record.
  • Experience writing successful extramural funding applications, including as a principal investigator.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with researchers across the Biological Sciences Division on federally funded research programs.
  • Conduct innovative research in Artificial Intelligence and computational biomedicine.
  • Supervise and mentor data scientists and research professionals within the Biostatistics Laboratory.
