About The Position

Prof. Philip Crowley of the Theory Center for Non-equilibrium Phenomena in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Michigan State University invites applications for a three-year postdoctoral research position. The successful applicant will work in the group of Prof. Crowley, as well as collaborating with other condensed matter and quantum materials faculty. The candidate will perform theoretical and computational research on far-from-equilibrium quantum systems and quantum information science. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: non-equilibrium phases in driven, dissipative or strongly disordered quantum systems, quantum algorithms and sensing protocols, quantum error correction, quantum error correction, neural quantum states, and the classical simulation of quantum systems. Requirements

  • Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field prior to the start date.
  • A strong background in theoretical or statistical physics and programming skills are required.
