About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Research Associate in Analytical Chemistry to join our team driving the development of novel biochemical pathways in microbial hosts. In this role, youll play a key part in analyzing a diverse range of molecules generated through fermentation and enzyme catalysis, while working closely with a collaborative team of scientists across disciplines. You will also have opportunities to develop new analytical methods that enhance the teams ability to deconvolute complex metabolic pathways. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with HPLC and GC, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and a solid foundation in data analysis and laboratory practices. Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or similar discipline with at least one year of experience in a research lab environment.
  • Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques (weighing, pipetting, volume measurement) and Microsoft Excel for data organization and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience operating analytical instruments such as HPLC and GC.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with LC-MS and GC-MS instrumentation, including method development, optimization, or validation.
  • Strong analytical skills: data analysis, troubleshooting instrumentation/method issues, interpreting results
  • Must be very organized and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be a quick learner who is self-motivated and able to ask questions and seek clarity.
  • Must be flexible with day-to-day duties and able to thrive in a start-up environment.
  • Must be an excellent, collaborative team member with strong communication skills
  • Must hold themselves to the highest professional, scientific and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Precisely execute analytical SOPs to quantify small molecules and proteins.
  • Process and organize analytical data into clear, accessible formats for multiple stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and validation of new analytical methods.
