Research Associate 1 is expected to execute and manage multi-projects for the Department of Physiology under the supervision of two principal investigators (faculty), work somewhat independently, be responsible for implementing approved protocols, optimizing protocols and ensure quality control in accordance with laboratory standard operating procedures. Is responsible for animal study procedures including treatment of mice, sample collection and processing, assisting with surgeries (maintain anesthesia logs, monitor animal pre-, during, and post-surgeries), collect data and enter into software to include, but not limited to, daily observations, sample data banking and maintaining data banks and quality control. Ideal candidate will have experience with the duties outlined, requires a high level of organization, is reliable, willing to have flexible schedule, is intrinsically motivated, and has ability to work both independently and as a part of a team. Candidate should have good oral and written communication skills.
