About The Position

The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", Department of Pediatrics- Neonatology, has an exciting opportunity for a temporary full-time Research Associate 1, SOM to work in Miami. The Research Associate 1, SOM supports research activities for the assigned division by conducting laboratory experiments on assigned research projects. Moreover, the incumbent operates with the goal of advancing his/her expertise through continued education, training, and research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required
  • Skill in collecting and organizing data.
  • Commitment to implementing and following established tracking systems.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred (reading, writing, speaking)

Responsibilities

  • Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
  • Participates in the publication of significant results.
  • Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.
  • Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.
  • Keeps abreast of current publications relative to methods, techniques, and developments within the area of research.
  • Collects, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens or tissue cultures.
  • Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
  • Performs a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies.
  • Performs calculations to complete research test results, collects data, and performs statistical analysis of laboratory results.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  • Transcribes and de-identifies information from planning meetings
  • Scores program metric measures
  • Enters UM COACH and PCIT related data into appropriate databases (e.g., Children's Trust, SPSS, REDCap) and maintains and organizes relevant databases
  • Collects and organizes data from UM COACH and PCIT personnel
  • Provides UM COACH and PCIT personnel with appropriate forms that need to be completed for data management
  • Assists in the preparation of relevant grant reports
  • Assists with coordination and scheduling of training workshops, assessment sessions, and coaching sessions
  • Provides friendly, efficient, and professional telephone, email, and office contact with UM COACH and PCIT team members, parents, and community agency personnel
  • Duplicates teacher handouts, workshop materials, data/coding sheets
  • Prepares assessment or COACH packets containing appropriate measures/forms
  • Participates in staff development and in-service training
  • Other duties as assigned by the UM COACH and PCIT Director
  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Write assigned sections of manuscripts
  • Complete bibliographies
