The Research Assistant position at the Research Foundation CUNY is designed to support the Bridges to Academic Success program, which aims to provide educational services and advocacy for newcomer students with limited academic skills. This role is integral to the Center for Advanced Study in Education (CASE), where the Research Assistant will engage in both qualitative and quantitative data collection to enhance the educational experiences of students in urban settings. The position will involve working closely with teachers and administrative staff at various school sites, conducting interviews and focus groups, and observing professional development meetings and classes. The Research Assistant will focus on language and literacy, ideally with a background in education, educational psychology, or linguistics. The role requires a commitment of 7-10 hours per week, primarily during the 2024-2025 school year, with travel to schools for data collection purposes. The Research Assistant will be supervised by the Assistant Director of Research and Evaluation and will collaborate with the Senior Project Director/PI. Compensation for this position ranges from $20 to $22 per hour, depending on experience. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in research meetings, assist in data analysis and report writing, and perform other duties as assigned to support the program's objectives.
