About The Position

Butler Hospital's Psychosocial Research Program is hiring a full-time research assistant for a randomized controlled trial on a mindfulness intervention for individuals with serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia and major mood disorders. The role also includes additional research on transitions of care, suicide prevention, and digital health interventions. This is an in-person position. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field by the position's start. This role is ideal for those aiming for graduate or medical school, with opportunities to publish and present at conferences. Previous research assistants have successfully gained acceptance into top doctoral programs after this position. The start date is winter-spring 2025.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field required
• Experience with psychology research and/or working with psychiatric patients desirable

Nice To Haves

• Skills using Microsoft Office
• Experience with SPSS
• Experience with REDCap

Responsibilities

• Recruiting and tracking research participants
• Screening electronic medical records
• Managing databases
• Preparing reports
• Conducting research assessments with psychiatric patients
• Working with a multidisciplinary team conducting research in a psychiatric hospital setting
