About The Position

The Wistar Institute has an opening for a highly motivated Research Assistant to work in the laboratory of Dr. Murad Mamedov as part of the new Center for Advanced Therapeutics at The Wistar Institute. The Mamedov Lab uses large-scale CRISPR screens and functional genomics to understand how the human immune system detects and kills cancerous and other diseased cells. We focus on human γδ T cells and other unconventional T cells, studying how these immune cells sense cellular stress in tumors, with the goal of developing novel and broadly accessible immunotherapies. The successful candidate will receive personalized training and close mentorship. High-performing candidates will have opportunities to expand responsibilities, develop new technical strengths, and contribute meaningfully to publications and presentations. The Wistar Institute is a world leader in early-stage discovery science in the areas of cancer, immunology, and infectious disease. Wistar is committed to accelerating research advances from bench to bedside through brilliant science and distinctive approaches to collaboration among scientific investigators and academic and industry partners. Wistar’s dynamic environment supports the advancement of discoveries that will change the future of human health. The Wistar Institute is located in the University City area of Philadelphia, in the heart of the University of Pennsylvania Campus.
