About The Position

The Research Assistant in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory will contribute to ongoing research by performing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting with the preparation of reports and publications. This position provides hands-on experience in the area of mammalian development while working closely with faculty and research team members to ensure adherence to study protocols and the accuracy of research data.

Nice To Haves

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in biology, preferably a covering molecular biology and developmental biology.
  • Work Experience: Experience working in a research setting. Experience with data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Laboratory Support Assist with setup, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of lab equipment and materials. Support preparation and execution of experiments and sample collection. Record observations and ensure proper labeling, storage, and data backup. Maintain lab cleanliness and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Research Operations & Logistics Assist research staff with study setup, daily operations, and project follow-ups. Prepare and organize study materials, including packets, forms, and documentation. Schedule study-related activities and help manage project timelines. Maintain inventory of study supplies and support ordering processes.
  • Data Entry & Documentation Accurately collect, enter, and maintain research data in electronic and paper-based systems. Review research documents, such as protocols, data collection forms, Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentation, abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts. Ensure proper documentation and organization of study records, project binders, and data collection forms. Assist with maintaining compliance with institutional and project guidelines.
  • Administration & Compliance Prepare documentation for audits, reviews, or sponsor site visits. Track study milestones, recruitment status, and project progress. Maintain study logs and organize project-related correspondence. Support the research team in coordinating meetings, taking minutes, and preparing reports.
