Under general supervision, provides routine technical assistance in performing assigned and delegated tasks in support of research projects. Responsibilities include assisting or conducting a variety of scientific experiments and research projects of limited complexity, collecting, evaluating and interpreting data for clinical and diagnostic research. Laboratory Maintenance: Regular maintenance of laboratory equipment, preparation of common reagents and media, autoclaving, inventory management, and biosafety compliance are critical for smooth day-to-day operations. These activities are time-consuming and essential for maintaining a safe and compliant research environment. Cell Culture Support: The lab conducts extensive mammalian cell culture work, including the maintenance of multiple cell lines, passaging, cryopreservation, and infection/transfection experiments. A dedicated technician will ensure consistent cell culture quality, prevent contamination, and maintain continuity during absences of primary research personnel. Assistance with Basic Experiments: The technician will assist in preparing reagents, running routine assays (e.g., Western blotting, PCR, immunostaining), and managing sample organization. This support will significantly increase productivity and ensure reproducibility of experimental results.
