About The Position

XRHealth, Inc. is seeking two motivated Research Assistants to support an innovative field study exploring the use of wearable technology to support mental health. This project investigates how real-time support can help individuals as they interact in real-world environments. This is a unique opportunity to work directly on the ground in NYC, assisting with a study that involves conducting research sessions in naturalistic public settings. You will be working under the mentorship of Dr. Noah Robinson (XRHealth), Dr. Ashley Kendall (UIC), and Dr. Steven Hollon (Vanderbilt).

Requirements

  • Education: Open to Doctoral students, Master’s students, and Undergraduate students with prior research experience.
  • Availability: Must be available to work evenings and weekends, as data collection will take place during active social hours in public spaces.
  • Location: Must be based in or able to easily travel to various locations within New York City.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and comfort navigating public social environments in NYC.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with clinical research or psychology is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Field Data Collection: Meet participants at designated public locations in NYC to facilitate study sessions.
  • Participant Management: Equip participants with study devices (smart glasses and study phone) and assist with setup.
  • Assessment Administration: Administer pre- and post-session questionnaires and conduct brief semi-structured exit interviews to gather user feedback.
  • Recruitment & Scheduling: Assist in recruiting 30 participants from the NYC area and managing the scheduling of field sessions.
  • Data Analysis: Assist with data cleaning and qualitative analysis.
  • Publication: Participate in publication process
