Research Assistant - Dr. Shapiro (2 Year Limited Tenure)
About The Position
Performs a variety of research laboratory support functions while following proper procedures to prevent laboratory-acquired infection and sample-to-sample contamination. Duties include maintaining and cleaning equipment and the facility, restocking supplies, and updating the laboratory database. This role will also involve work with mice. The position operates under direct supervision. Strong attention to detail is essential when managing multiple tasks, and flexibility is important to accommodate frequent changes in work volume. This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Requirements
- Requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Coursework in mathematics and relevant sciences.
- Must have previous work experience that demonstrates organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
- Requires manual dexterity, accurate typing, and good communication skills.
- Must be able to prioritize and adjust to changes in work volume.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Excel software is preferred.
