About The Position

Texas A&M AgriLife is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive agriculture program, comprising Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M AgriLife Research, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University, Texas A&M Forest Service, and Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. The Research Assistant position involves 80% protein expression and purification in bacterial, insect cell, or human cell systems, along with cell-based assays like luciferase reporter assays and western blot. Additionally, 15% of the role is dedicated to ordering reagents and supplies for the lab, and 5% to other assigned duties.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Biochemistry or closely related field.
• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
• Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
• Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.

• Some experience of research in life science.

Responsibilities

• Protein expression and purification in bacterial, insect cell or human cell.
• Cell based assays such as luciferase reporter assays, western blot, are also expected.
• Ordering reagents and supplies for the lab.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
