About The Position

Seeking a self-motivated, reliable, organized, and detail-oriented individual to serve as a part-time Research Assistant who will facilitate the recruitment of youth for multiple studies in Dr. Tiffany Ho's laboratory in the Department of Psychology at UCLA. Dr. Ho's research examines how experiences of stress impact inflammatory signaling and brain metabolism and morphometry in adolescents who experience a range of depressive symptoms. The lab leverages multimodal MRI-based approaches, blood-based immune markers, passive sensing data via smartphone apps, computerized cognitive tasks, and behavioral methods to address these questions and provides a rich training environment for aspiring clinical, developmental, and/or affective psychologists or neuroscientists. Under the supervision of Dr. Ho, the individual in this position will brainstorm and execute high-yield strategies for recruiting adolescents for longitudinal studies, coordinate schedules for various study assessments, maintain participant contact to minimize data loss, assist with consenting and interfacing with study participants, administer behavioral assessments (interviews, questionnaires, experimental paradigms), collect biospecimens, organize relevant databases, oversee undergraduate research assistants on basic lab operations, and document lab procedures.
