ICON plc is a world-leading healthcare intelligence and clinical research organization, and we are currently seeking a Full Time/Permanent Research Assistant to join our diverse and dynamic team in San Antonio, TX. The Research Assistant plays a crucial role in the execution of all aspects of clinical trials, ensuring that all activities are performed in accordance with the clinical trial protocol. This position involves direct patient contact and requires a thorough understanding of the clinical trial processes, including compliance with ICON Early Phase Services SOPs, FDA regulations, and ICH GCP guidelines. As a Research Assistant, you will be responsible for clarifying any clinical trial-related issues to ensure proper execution of the trial. This includes the collection of pharmacokinetic specimens, quality checks of completed source documents, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all data points. You will also participate in internal and external clinical trial meetings, familiarize yourself with protocol requirements, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations such as OSHA and FDA. In addition to these responsibilities, you will be tasked with the collection and transport of laboratory specimens, proper disposal of bio-hazardous waste, and providing reports to incoming research assistants. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to follow reasonable directives as assigned. This position is 100% on-site, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and collaboration in a clinical research environment.
