About The Position

The Biosensor Engineer designs, fabricates, and characterizes novel biosensing platforms. In this role, one will work with a team of scientists and engineers to develop and implement cutting-edge methods to fabricate sensors and then utilize rigorous methods to evaluate their performance in the laboratory to prepare these devices for human testing and validation. Applicants should have comfortability working in chemical/biological laboratory settings and industrial or manufacturing spaces.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in biosensor development, fabrication, and characterization.
  • Experienced in using various biorecognition elements and coatings
  • Experienced in utilizing multiple electrochemical techniques and potentiostats.
  • Experienced in maintaining detailed lab notebooks and writing technical reports and root-cause analyses.
  • Quick learner of new biosensor fabrication methods, analytical tests and implementation of methods in the lab.
  • Strong analytical knowledge & ability to use the latest testing technology and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, fabricates, and characterizes biosensors and associated measurement systems for production and R&D.
  • Executes robust test plans, senor validation protocols, and documents performance specifications.
  • Analyzes, processes, and formats datasets from laboratory testing to derive clear, actionable conclusions.
  • Works well with lead scientists to execute test and evaluation.
  • Works with diverse teams across multiple disciplines, including materials science, clinical, and regulatory affairs.
  • Provides timely feedback on testing to afford improvements be made in sensor performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Evaluates sensor performance metrics such as sensitivity, specificity, and stability.
  • Executes functional, performance, and interference tests on biosensor components and integrated systems.
  • Resolves a wide range of technical issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires an evaluation of electrochemical, optical, and biological factors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
