About The Position

The Research Assistant, Quality & Clinical Research will provide foundational support for Cardiovascular Associates of America’s enterprise quality improvement and clinical research programs. This role will be evenly split between quality initiatives and clinical research activities, including outcomes and health services research. The Research Assistant will work closely with analysts, physician investigators, and quality leaders to support data collection, documentation, reporting, development of quality guidelines and quality improvement initiatives, and research operations across a national network of community cardiology practices. This position is well suited for an individual early in their healthcare, public health, or research career who is seeking hands-on experience in cardiovascular quality improvement and health outcomes research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health sciences, biology, epidemiology, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in cardiovascular medicine, quality improvement, or clinical research.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in public health, Business Administration, or Science.
  • Prior experience in healthcare, research, quality improvement, or data-related roles.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records or clinical registries.
  • Exposure to IRB-regulated research or human subjects research.
  • Basic experience with data analysis or data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with data collection and validation for enterprise quality initiatives.
  • Support routine quality reporting and scorecard preparation.
  • Help track quality metrics related to internal quality initiatives and payer quality and value-based care programs.
  • Help design, outline, and implement quality improvement programs.
  • Assist with audit preparation and documentation related to quality reporting.
  • Support communication and coordination with practices related to quality data requests.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for quality initiatives.
  • Assist with gathering background information for both sponsor- and investigator-initiated studies.
  • Assist with patient screening, eligibility tracking, and maintenance of study logs, as applicable.
  • Support data abstraction from EHRs and registries under supervision.
  • Assist with IRB submissions, amendments, continuing reviews, and regulatory documentation.
  • Maintain research documentation in compliance with regulatory and data governance requirements.
  • Support preparation of internal research reports, abstracts, posters, and presentations.
  • Assist with data entry, quality checks, and basic analyses under supervision.
  • Help maintain standardized templates, trackers, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate meetings, agendas, and materials for quality and research projects.
  • Support collaboration between quality, research, and other organizational teams.
