The Department of Neurology, Division of Child Neurology, is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant Professor to conduct research in pediatric neurology, neurodevelopmental disorders, and neurogenetic conditions. The primary goal is to collaborate with leading organizations at the University of North Carolina, such as the Carolina Institute of Developmental Disabilities, the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Development Behavior and Learning, and Division of Pediatric Genetics & Metabolism, to conduct groundbreaking clinical trials. This role aims to advance the understanding and treatment of these conditions. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge translational applications in pediatric neurodevelopmental disabilities, encompassing both research and clinical care. The ideal candidate will possess enthusiasm for pediatric neuroscience and thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative environment. The role involves conducting clinical trial visits, neurological exams, and lumbar punctures. Candidates must have a Doctorate-level training background, experience in clinical research, and relevant publications. Key skills include program planning, evaluation, and advanced statistical modeling. Essential experience includes working within interdisciplinary teams, navigating complex collaborative environments, demonstrating high-level reliability, and strategic communication. In addition to developing and maintaining a funded research portfolio, the successful candidate will be a licensed and credentialed clinical provider, establishing a clinical practice in pediatric neurology at the UNC Children’s Pediatric Neurology Clinic in Chapel Hill and/or Raleigh.
