We seek collaborative, highly motivated individuals who are excellent communicators, skilled in conceptualizing complex systems and logic models, and passionate about improving healthcare. This position focuses on the dissemination of trauma and psychological health research findings to military stakeholders and the implementation of evidence-based practices within military medical populations. Therefore, applicants should have experience working with, or significant interest in, military populations. This 1.0 FTE position will serve as an investigator at the rank of Research Assistant Professor. This position is non-clinical and suitable for doctoral level applicants with relevant training and expertise. At a minimum, the position will require prior experience in implementation science as evidenced by a relevant post-doctoral position or dissemination and implementation science training (e.g., NIH TIDIRH program, university training or certificate program) and a degree in a health science or related field. The incumbent may receive additional training through the CU Dissemination & Implementation Science Graduate Certificate Program. The Department of Emergency Medicine conducts research into areas such as trauma, injury prevention, opioid misuse, critical care, mental health, pharmacogenomics, toxicology, global health, and healthcare policy. The Department values team members who are eager to pursue further training and growth as a researcher and professional. The successful applicant will have a passion for research, enjoy and excel in the sharing of knowledge and life-long learning, and have a desire to work in a collaborative and driven pool of talented co-workers. The CU Anschutz Center for COMBAT Research provides expert consultation for physicians, basic scientists, clinical investigators, professional research staff, and academic and military leaders. The Center focuses on creating and executing acute care research (e.g., trauma, critical care, emergency care, psychological health) to fulfill the needs of the U.S. military and our Colorado communities, including solutions for primary prevention and mental health promotion. The Center facilitates the execution of collaborative combat and deployment-relevant research by fostering relationships among military scientists, clinical investigators, combat leaders, and field operators to produce successful innovations, materiel solutions, and knowledge products of high impact to the warfighter and the medics. The Department of Emergency Medicine and Center for COMBAT Research are excited to recruit a doctoral-level researcher with experience in dissemination and implementation science to contribute to research design, successful transition of research results to military stakeholders, and implementation of evidence-based practices to improve training and sustainment of medical personnel knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position will serve as a key part of the Center for COMBAT Research team. The researcher in this position will be appointed to, and build a career in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado in collaboration with other Departments and Schools on Campus.
