About The Position

The Research Assistant in the Department of Pathology will contribute to ongoing studies by performing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting with the preparation of reports and publications. This position provides hands-on experience in thrombosis, hemostasis, and vascular biology while working closely with faculty and research team members to ensure adherence to protocols and the accuracy of research data.

Requirements

  • Four years of relevant experience. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of lab equipment and materials.
  • Support preparation and execution of experiments and sample collection.
  • Record observations and ensure proper labeling, storage, and data backup.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Assist research staff with study setup, study efforts, and project follow-ups.
  • Prepare and organize research materials, including study packets, consent forms, and project documentation.
  • Schedule study-related activities and coordinate project timelines.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of study supplies and assist in ordering necessary materials.
  • Accurately collect, enter, and maintain research data in electronic and paper-based systems.
  • Ensure proper documentation and organization of study records, project binders, and data collection forms.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with institutional and project guidelines, including submissions and updates.
  • Assist in preparing materials for audits, project reviews, or sponsor site visits.
  • Track and report study milestones, recruitment status, and project progress.
  • Maintain study logs and ensure proper filing of all project-related correspondence.
  • Support the research team in coordinating meetings, taking minutes, and preparing reports.
