About The Position

Join AIR as a Research Assistant with our Learning Supports Team. The Learning Supports Team helps to transform educational systems, ensuring early and equal access to learning so every child and family can flourish. This position has the flexibility to work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of AIR’s U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or related fields.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of data collection and analysis methodologies and techniques, such as screening for research synthesis, survey design, and conducting structured interviews, observations, and focus groups.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data collection and report writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate efficiently in a virtual work environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
  • Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.
  • Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with or inclination to learn and use database programs such as Airtable is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with or inclination to learn and use software programs such as NVivo, R, or Stata to analyze data is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews to support projects and proposals.
  • Code studies for research synthesis projects.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative research data and contribute to the reporting and interpretation of findings.
  • Support communication with school and district leaders.
  • Develop spreadsheets and data bases to support project activities.
  • Provide new business and proposal development support by engaging in such tasks as researching funding opportunities, conducting literature reviews, writing proposal sections, etc.
  • Assist staff in the review, identification and development of scholarly information describing research findings.
