Dr. Asmaa Abu Maziad's Lab is seeking a Research Assistant IV and has one open vacancy. The position is temporary and will be for one year; however, there is the potential for an extension dependent on available funding. The primary functions will be to design and execute research on understanding the structure/function relationships in podocyte cytoskeleton and mitochondrial functions in kidney diseases. This includes conducting experiments to elucidate how the podocyte cytoskeleton and its structural features influence mitochondrial functions and contribute to disease pathogenesis. The position uses cell culture, but mouse work will be used to confirm the findings.
