About the position

The Research Assistant III position at Knowesis involves providing essential support to the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, specifically within the Military Psychiatry branch. This role focuses on conducting human subjects research related to psychology, brain health, and human performance, contributing to the development of evidence-based knowledge products and interventions aimed at enhancing the readiness and resilience of Soldiers. The position requires a strong background in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, as well as the ability to lead and oversee the work of other research assistants.

Responsibilities

• Support WRAIR scientists in executing human subjects research related to psychology, brain health, and human performance.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research methods including surveys, interviews, experimentation, and intervention testing.
• Oversee the work of other Research Assistants as a team lead.
• Conduct literature reviews to inform research efforts.
• Implement psychological/psychiatric research efforts, including epidemiologic studies and data collection protocols.
• Perform data analyses using statistical packages such as SPSS and NVivo.
• Co-author reports, papers, and presentations of research findings.
• Assist in maintaining good practice standards in research.
• Travel to assist with field data collections and attend scientific meetings as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum five years' experience supporting human subjects research.
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative methods including surveys, interviews, experimentation, and intervention testing.
• Proficiency in statistical packages such as SPSS and NVivo.

• Experience working with military or veteran populations.
