About The Position

The Research Assistant II will support rehabilitation research focused on pediatric brain injury, conducting data collection, analysis, and interpretation for various studies and grants under the guidance of the Director of Rehabilitation Neuropsychology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree in psychology or related field preferred.
  • Experience coordinating investigator-initiated research protocols preferred.
  • Professional experience in a pediatric setting preferred.
  • Experience in child development preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the collection of primary outcome data for multicenter studies with regular contact with data coordinating center and/or site research coordinators.
  • Participate in regular, multisite conference calls to assist with study coordination.
  • Assist with data tracking to ensure accurate data collection, adjudication, and data entry across studies and sites.
  • Maintain and manage research databases of study participants.
  • Conduct semi-structured telephone interviews and obtain outcome data for clinical studies.
  • May perform educational, developmental, or other forms of testing as required with research participants.
  • Coordinate Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and maintain regulatory documents for IRB compliance for various research projects.
  • Assist with carrying out research protocols.
  • Score, code, and verify data.
  • Conduct research interviews and screen subjects for participation in various research studies.
  • Recruit research subjects and coordinate research visits.
  • Meet with research participants and their parent and/or guardian to review and obtain consent for participation.
  • Analyze behavioral data, generate reports, and build queries.
  • Assist with planning and developing survey instruments.
  • Participate in development of grant proposals and manuscript preparation including, but not limited to, conducting literature searches, performing data analyses, and assisting in the writing of manuscripts and grants.
  • Schedule and participate in research meetings.
