RESEARCH ASSISTANT I
About The Position
Carries out experiments as instructed by PI. RA will receive training to be able to perform the techniques required to complete the project. Monitors inventory of essential lab supplies and order additional supplies when required. Prepares solutions, buffers and media. Gathers, organizes, enters and analyzes data; perform literature searches on computer and retrieve literature from library. Incorporates new information/techniques into experiments with PIs approval. Mains a safe and orderly lab environment. Makes sure lab environment complies with safety regulations. Performs other and related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in related field and zero-one year of related experience.
- Organizational skills in scientific tasks and documentation.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to communicate verbally.
- Ability to finish tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to deal calmly and courteously with people.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Ability to work as an effective team member.
- Ability to organize workflow.
- Ability to work on routine jobs.
- Ability to interact with internal and external constituents.
- Ability to work with animals/human tissues/infectious agents.
- Interpersonal Skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Internet and email applications.
