A Research Assistant I position is currently available in Dr. Kent Kiehl’s laboratory at The Mind Research Network in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Duties include working with a research team on several grant funded studies grant-funded studies designed to evaluate neurobehavioral characteristics of incarcerated criminal offenders with antisocial (e.g., psychopathic) traits, substance use disorders, and/or past traumatic events (including traumatic brain injury). Our studies also investigate the impact of treatment (e.g., mindfulness, cognitive skills training) as well long-term outcomes post-release from incarceration. The RAI will assist with recruiting, scheduling, and screening study participants, file scanning, data entry, and various data management projects (coding, scoring, etc). Depending on interests and experience, training may also be provided in in the administration and scoring of clinical interviews and neuropsychological tests, and/or collecting/analyzing brain imaging (e.g., functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)) data. All candidates should possess strong interest in research with incarcerated populations. The Mind Research Network is division of Lovelace dedicated to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness and brain injury.
