About The Position
Works under general direction to provide responsible and skilled technical assistance in performing assignments requiring experience and good knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of medical and scientific research. The Lai Lab in the Neuroscience Department at UT Southwestern seeks to understand how the neuronal diversity of the somatosensory system is generated. We are looking for an enthusiastic and responsible Research Assistant to support ongoing projects in the lab employing mouse genetic strains, histology, microscopy techniques, and behavioral assays. Efficient organizational skills, attention to detail, accurate record keeping, and effective communication skills are a must! Laboratory experience with molecular biology, histology, and mouse genetics as well as basic word processing and spreadsheet computer skills is preferred. Coding skills are a plus. Responsibilities include performing daily research lab duties such as mouse colony maintenance and supporting ongoing molecular biology and histological experiments.
