About The Position

The Research Assistant I position at the UTHealth Center of Excellence on Mood Disorders involves supporting a longitudinal cohort study focused on bipolar disorder. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to recruit participants, manage regulatory aspects, and assist in data collection over a five-year period. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.
  • General knowledge of research fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GCP and IRB/IEC regulatory processes.
  • Phlebotomy skills or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research activities according to research protocol under close supervision.
  • Recruit and screen patients for the study.
  • Perform laboratory experiments and activities as needed.
  • Collect, evaluate, and interpret research data for principal investigators.
  • Maintain clean laboratory equipment and work areas.
  • Order laboratory supplies as directed by senior research staff.
  • Coordinate the work of laboratory technicians and assistants when necessary.
  • Comply with all governmental and University policies and regulations.
