About The Position

Wayne State University is seeking a Research Assistant for the Department of Pharmacy Practice at its Detroit campus. This position is integral to supporting scientific and technical research under the guidance of the Principal Investigator. The Research Assistant will engage in laboratory-based, clinical, or population science research, contributing to the design and execution of research protocols. Responsibilities include writing research protocols, preparing manuscripts, and performing experiments independently or under supervision. The role requires a commitment to compliance with legal, regulatory, and protocol guidelines, ensuring that all research activities are conducted ethically and effectively. The Research Assistant will be involved in various tasks such as recruiting participants, developing surveys, and conducting interviews. They will also collect and log laboratory results, clinical outcomes, and survey data, performing data analysis to highlight key research findings. The position demands strong communication skills to liaise with the Principal Investigator and other research staff, ensuring that research objectives are met and that any issues are addressed promptly. In addition to research activities, the Research Assistant will maintain laboratory work areas, manage research supplies, and ensure the cleanliness and organization of their workspace. They will assist in preparing presentations for academic conferences and contribute to grant applications.
