About The Position

The Department of Pathology is currently seeking a full-time Research Assistant 3 to work on-site in Miami. The Research Assistant 3 explores innovations to research and strives to improve implementation and family outcomes. The Research Assistant 3 ensures compliance with university policies, rules, and regulations to meet federal, state, and local standards pertaining to safety and ethics.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

Nice To Haves

Prior histology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Plans and implements research experiments, according to research protocols, to assure high quality scientific results in support of applicable project goals.
Participates in assessing feasibility of implementing innovations.
Assesses data trends and develops reports and presentations.
Supports the initiation of new research by reviewing and synthesizing literature.
Oversees inventory of supplies and equipment and places orders in a timely fashion.
Provides assistance in the preparation of scientific papers, reports, and manuscripts.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Maintain and operate various pieces of laboratory equipment including fume hood, processor, slide stainer, slide cover slipper, and embedding station.
Prepare solutions and work with supervisor in performing various histology techniques including special stains.
Accessions and registers histology specimens; reconcile labelling; organized completed work and notify client that is ready for pickup.
Assist in client billing, scanning of requisitions, organization of purchasing paperwork, answer phone and replies to other client inquiries.
