Working under limited supervision, coordinate research work in medical and related technical areas. The Research Assistant 3 will perform experiments to investigate the effects of stroke on immune cells in mice and the impact of circadian clock disruption on immune cell function. Key responsibilities include executing routine laboratory protocols involving molecular biology and biochemistry techniques such as histology, light microscopy, Seahorse assays, behavioral assays, cell culture, and circadian rhythm experiments. The research assistant will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) regarding ongoing studies and to determine additional experiments based on the outcomes. Other responsibilities will include meticulous recording of experimental results, maintaining accurate lab records, and reporting data oral and written reports. The lab’s objective is to explore the intersection of circadian biology, immunology, and metabolism to understand aging and disease using mouse models. Handling mice for circadian, behavioral, and surgical experiments. This work supports the mission of the Pharmacology Department at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine to elucidate the mechanisms influencing cellular and molecular processes in living organisms. This position will work with animals.
