About The Position

The Research Assessment Senior Specialist at Kennesaw State University is responsible for collecting and managing data related to student internship and career outcomes. This role involves making data accessible to key stakeholders, enhancing data collection protocols, and ensuring effective communication of student success metrics. The specialist will also develop data visualization tools and dashboards to inform university leadership and academic units about career planning and development performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (data analytics, statistics, higher education administration, etc.)
  • Three (3) years of related experience in data collection, management, and communication, preferably in a higher education setting
  • Current, valid and unrestricted drivers' license

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Experience collaborating with university stakeholders and faculty
  • Working knowledge of Handshake, Banner, and/or Tableau and Power BI data visualization software

Responsibilities

  • Lead data collection efforts for student and employer outcomes related to internships, co-ops, full-time job placement, and student engagements
  • Work with supervisor and other campus partners to assess and enhance a protocol leading to greater annual completion of the KSU undergraduate First Destination Survey
  • Work with supervisor and other campus partners to assess and enhance a protocol leading to a robust graduate student career outcomes
  • Lead deployment of First Destination Survey (FDS), drive improvements to response rate, and manage and interpret resulting data
  • Develop and maintain data visualization dashboards for use by University stakeholders
  • Prepare datasets and summary information for leadership to assess Department of Career Planning and Development (CPD) performance
  • Make recommendations to CPD staff and leadership on improving data reliability and consistency
  • Compile reports provided to academic units, including Deans and Department Chairs, regarding student success, experiential education, and career outcomes
  • Develop and maintain data visualization tools and information dashboards to inform campus stakeholders of results and CPD impact
  • Meet regularly with Career Planning and Development staff to assess data quality and metrics of student success
  • Develop resources, including data dashboards, to regularly communicate student career and internship outcomes to college and department leadership
  • Assess effectiveness and opportunities for improvement in programming and career readiness skill development
  • Represent CPD at meetings, conferences, and other events as relevant to role
  • Respond to requests for data and metrics from University leadership in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide technical support by managing University-wide use of Handshake platform
  • Monitor progress toward achieving established objectives and deadlines
  • Conduct research, design new initiatives, and collaborate with others to ensure consistency and streamlining of processes across campus.
