About The Position

The Research and Evaluation Analyst at the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) plays a crucial role in conducting independent and specialized research and evaluations on various topics aligned with OHA's Strategic Plan. This includes areas such as education, health, housing, and economics. The analyst is expected to identify, recommend, and initiate research or evaluation projects, develop work outlines under the guidance of the Director of the Research and Evaluation Division, and complete necessary research, data collection, and analysis. The position requires the development of comprehensive recommendations based on the findings of these projects. In this role, the analyst will collaborate closely with the Director to plan, design, and conduct fact-finding and analysis. They will assist program staff in reframing research questions and developing methods for project implementation, as well as providing expertise in survey development aimed at improving advocacy for beneficiaries. The analyst will also lead process evaluation projects, analyzing established programs' objectives, costs, and effectiveness, and reporting findings to identify areas for internal process improvement. Additionally, the analyst will execute impact evaluation projects to assess the effects of OHA activities on the conditions of Native Hawaiians, ensuring that all evaluations are conducted with high quality and integrity. The role involves preparing reports, documents, and presentations for various stakeholders, including community partners and OHA leadership. The analyst will also maintain effective working relationships with OHA staff, Trustees, and community groups to support research initiatives aligned with OHA's Strategic Plan.
