About The Position

To address the increasing demand for effective water filtration and stormwater pollutant removal, our dedicated Komline-AquaShield engineering team designs and delivers integrated product solutions that exceed today’s evolving water quality standards. Leveraging proprietary technologies and both custom and retrofit applications, we provide LEED-accredited, lightweight, and durable modular units. Our systems support green infrastructure initiatives and represent best-in-class stormwater treatment solutions. The Research and Development Engineer will advance the understanding of stormwater management and developing innovative solutions. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, environmental scientists, and researchers The Research and Development Engineer will design, test, and evaluate stormwater treatment technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Engineering, Mechanical, or applicable scientific areas
  • 5+ years’ experience in stormwater technologies
  • Expertise in stormwater treatment technologies such as filtration systems, biofiltration, green infrastructure, and other innovative approaches
  • Written and verbal communication to collaborate cross functionally within the team
  • Previous publication research in peer-reviewed journals
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
  • Familiarity with emerging trends in sustainable stormwater treatment technologies

Responsibilities

  • Assist/direct the design and implementation of laboratory and field performance testing programs and evaluation of systems through 3rd party independent organizations or through internal staff
  • Assist with the development of long term systematic testing programs designed to provide defensible or industry-supported performance data for a variety of filter media or other treatment methods
  • Assist with research and product design development to prepare future stormwater treatment systems or technologies and as needed, assist with design modifications of existing treatment systems
  • Provide technical documentation of stormwater treatment systems and interface with designated regulatory agencies for local municipalities or state submittals for acceptance (or protocols that have reciprocity with other states)
  • Identify opportunities for publications in professional magazines to present case studies or unbiased reporting of system applications and/or performance
  • Identify opportunities for tradeshow presentations and associated publications to increase awareness of Komline in the marketplace and build upon our reputation for technical expertise.
  • Provide thorough knowledge of competitive technologies to not only improve Komline products but also support the sales teams to combat technical objections
  • Provide backup in job shadowing of quality control checks/reviews and CAD drawings
