About The Position

Who we are looking for The Research and Data Sales Specialist, VP will be part of a global team focused on executing State Street’s growth strategy across proprietary data and research offerings. You will be responsible for developing new relationships with both existing clients and prospects by promoting innovative data products and proprietary markets research, delivering differentiated insights to institutional investors and building a recurring revenue stream. An outgoing personality, entrepreneurial mindset, and comfort developing fluency across multiple product types—including data, analytics, and investment research—are critical to success in this role. Why this role is important to us The team you’ll be joining sits at the intersection of State Street Data Intelligence (SSDI) and State Street Markets Research, combining proprietary data assets with capital markets–driven research and insights. SSDI is dedicated to transforming data into actionable intelligence that supports smarter investment decisions. Launched in 2025, SSDI develops and delivers innovative products that provide clients with a competitive edge through unique datasets, including State Street’s proprietary data assets. Current offerings include the State Street PriceStats® Indices, used by hundreds of institutional investors and multiple central banks globally, as well as the State Street Private Capital Indices, which support portfolio construction and benchmarking across private equity and private credit. In parallel, State Street Markets Research is produced by State Street Markets—the firm’s capital markets arm encompassing FX, Financing Solutions, and electronic trading platforms. These research products deliver proprietary insights on investor behavior, inflation and macroeconomics, market strategy, risk, and market sentiment, leveraging State Street’s unique vantage point across global markets. The research is further strengthened through State Street Associates, the firm’s academic partnership platform, which collaborates with leading economists and researchers from institutions such as Harvard, MIT, Boston College, and Tufts. Requirements

  • Experience engaging institutional investors on investment research, financial data, market insights, or analytics.
  • Proven track record of developing new client relationships and building a sustainable sales pipeline to meet and exceed targets.
  • Ability to navigate a large, complex organization and collaborate effectively across multiple business lines.
  • Comfort developing fluency across a diverse product set, including data, analytics, and proprietary research.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with a data, research, market data, or alternative data provider in a client-facing role is a plus but not required.
  • MBA or advanced degree a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and engage with new clients to build a sales pipeline across both data products and markets research offerings, generating new commercial opportunities for State Street.
  • Work closely with internal sales, relationship management, and Markets teams across the firm to identify, position, and deliver data and research products to institutional clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction, drive adoption, and promote new data sets and research offerings.
  • Develop sufficient depth of knowledge across State Street’s data and research products to support client conversations and enable broader sales teams.
  • Travel to engage with clients and represent State Street at industry conferences, client events, and other forums to source new leads and expand market presence.
