About The Position

The Research and Accountability Data Analyst (RADA) supports researchers, national teams, and school leadership by preparing, organizing, and analyzing school performance data aligned to accountability frameworks. This role focuses on ensuring high‑quality data preparation, producing standardized datasets, and assisting with routine analyses that help teams understand academic, engagement, and retention outcomes. The RADA is a key contributor to the research and accountability team, helping maintain databases, build routine dashboards, and respond to data requests using tools such as SQL, Snowflake, and dbt. This role requires strong proficiency in SQL, including experience querying large datasets, optimizing queries, and troubleshooting data inconsistencies. It also requires strong attention to detail, comfort working with large datasets, and the ability to clearly summarize findings for internal stakeholders. The RADA collaborates regularly with researchers, assessment teams, report developers, and data teams to ensure accurate and consistent data reporting.

Requirements

  • BS degree in mathematics, data science, technology, education leadership, or related field AND Two (2) years of experience in data analysis or school‑based roles OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Python for data cleaning or automation.
  • Familiarity with basic analytics methods such as regression or comparison analyses.
  • Awareness of trends in K–12 accountability, assessment, and educational research.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports analysis of accountability data to identify performance patterns, prepare internal reports, and assist with media or leadership inquiries.
  • Helps maintain Snowflake databases and dbt models used for dashboards and recurring queries related to accountability, state testing, and research data.
  • Prepares standardized datasets in SQL for researchers to use when examining academic, engagement, or retention measures.
  • Assists with ingesting and cleaning graduation rates, assessment scores, demographic data, and other publicly available datasets; supports normalization of data across states.
  • Designs and updates dashboards that visualize accountability metrics and outcomes of pilot programs or initiatives.
  • Responds to routine and ad‑hoc requests for assessment and accountability data.
  • Reviews interim assessment data after each testing window to inform school improvement efforts and special programs; summarizes program status for leadership as needed.
  • Works with assessment teams to gather, clean, and analyze internal/external assessment and intervention data; identifies recurring reporting needs.
  • Applies basic understanding of state and federal accountability requirements to ensure accuracy in reporting and analysis.
  • Partners with report developers to clarify metric definitions and contribute to reports tied to key accountability indicators.
  • Collaborates with internal data, research, and data science teams to support ongoing strategic projects.
