McNees Wallace & Nurick is seeking an experienced Research Analyst to join our growing New Business Intake & Research team. This role is a key part of the firm’s research function, providing timely, high‑quality research and analysis to attorneys and professional staff across a wide range of practice areas. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, detail‑oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, service‑focused environment. We offer flexibility in work location, this role is open to fully remote or hybrid schedule from any of our office locations, and will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a respected, full‑service law firm.

Requirements

  • Excellent research, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong project management, organizational, and analytical abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with attorneys and professional staff at all levels of the firm
  • Working knowledge of business and competitive intelligence research, as well as legal and business terminology
  • Master’s degree in Library or Information Science preferred (Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; prior legal or law firm experience is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide in‑depth research and analysis, and prepare clear research reports and summaries related to competitive and business intelligence
  • Conduct online legal research using Lexis, Practical Law, and other legal and business databases
  • Assist attorneys with legal research needs and educate them on effective use of research tools
  • Set up, maintain, and curate client‑ and industry‑specific news feeds and alerts using news aggregation software
  • Prepare legislative histories and related research materials
  • Proofread and perform cite‑checking on briefs and legal documents
  • Administer the intel acquisitions process, including ordering resources and coordinating subscription renewals
