The Urban Institute is seeking a Research Analyst to join the Office of Race and Equity Research (ORER), an interdisciplinary hub dedicated to advancing equitable outcomes through innovative research, policy, and practice. This office plays a crucial role in providing research, advisory services, and technical assistance to a diverse range of changemakers, including practitioners, advocacy partners, and public officials. The Research Analyst will contribute to the design and execution of research projects aimed at examining policy solutions that promote equity across various fields, such as wealth building and automated systems. This position is open to candidates who prefer in-office, hybrid, or remote work arrangements. In this role, the Research Analyst will assist senior researchers and project teams in executing defined research tasks. Responsibilities include contributing to the development of conceptual frameworks for analyzing structural racism and other forms of disadvantage, evaluating programs and policies, and communicating with stakeholders to understand their efforts in advancing racial equity. The analyst will compile and analyze data, conduct fieldwork, and utilize statistical software for data processing and analysis. Additionally, the role involves writing reports and policy briefs, managing multiple research projects, and completing administrative tasks related to project management.
